A little bit about the weapons in the Brandon Sparks Universe – C.K.

Jake Newbourne always wanted to see a picture of the Hidden Sun firing the ribbon-cutter. Many of my colleagues believe that the powerful weapons and the action packed scenes in which they are on display are the most enticing part of the Brandon Sparks story. Are they right? I have to admit that as I worked diligently on correcting the errors in the novels I sometimes caught myself drifting to different battle sequences; laser blasts everywhere, shields being pummeled, missiles exploding, and of course the ribbon-cutter.

There is something innate in humans that we overlook defense and focus on offense, which is a shame because there are so many unbelievable defensive mechanisms that are often more intriguing than their offensive counterparts. I can point to the Hidden Sun’s Sun Shields, and the Skelk hexagonal shield plates as two examples of defensive marvels. OK, so maybe they don’t possess the same cool factor as a carnage missile, but they are amazing in their own right.

It is my humble opinion that understanding the intricacies and motivations of each character is more important than the brightly colored explosions and fancy rockets, but dismissing someone who enjoys the action and looks forward to seeing the ribbon-cutter firing in all its glory would be silly.

While it is my hope that you become personally involved in the story, here are some of the weapons (and defensive measures) you will find in the Brandon Sparks Universe.
