Rexford Smoke

Captain Smoke is a tall man with dark skin and short, dark hair which is graying on the sides. His voice is deep and he speaks in a way that lets you know he is in command. He dresses in a blue military suit with four silver stars pinned to his chest.

Proud husband, and a father of two, Captain Smoke often found himself spending long periods of time away from his family fighting battles against General Zarafat and the Ptevos. Rexford Smoke is extremely intelligent and an excellent captain.

Author’s Note:

When I picture Captain Smoke in my mind, he looks and sounds like Keith David. All I hear is that man’s voice in my head. What was originally planned to be a small role as the original captain of the Hidden Sun has morphed into a much more important role. The Introduction at the beginning of Brandon Sparks and the Hidden Sun was added after the book was completed, and it gave Captain Smoke a much bigger role. As the story continues in future novels, Captain Smoke’s role grows, even though his body lays in a hospital in Geneva, NY.

Charlie’s Note:

Brandon always admired Captain Smoke, and though he did not know the man very well, he strives to make him proud. You would be hard pressed to find a better man than Captain Smoke.
